丙酸 propionic acid 分子中含有3个碳原子的饱和羧酸。分子式CH3CH2COOH。可看作是甲基乙酸。干馏木材制得的木醋酸(或称焦木酸)中和各种发酵产物中均含少量丙酸。具有刺激性气味的无色液体。熔点-20.8℃,沸点141℃,密度0.9930克/ 厘米3(20℃)。易溶于水、乙醇、乙醚和氯仿中。丙酸的化学性质与乙酸相似,可生成盐、酯、酰卤、酰胺和酸酐。在光照下,氯气与丙酸反应,其a氢可被氯取代生成氯代丙酸。 过去,丙酸主要由制炭的副产品木醋酸中分离得到。现在是利用乙烯、一氧化碳和氢气进行氢合羰基化反应,首先生成丙醛,再进一步氧化生成丙酸。由丙烷、丁烷经液相氧化也能制取丙酸。由戊糖、己糖经发酵也可制得。丙酸主要用于制造纤维素三丙酸酯、纤维素乙酸丙酸酯,也可用于制造改性环氧树脂和用作合成聚酯树脂的催化剂。丙酸无毒,可用作谷物保藏剂和食物的霉菌抑制剂。丙酸与低级醇形成的酯可用于香精和油漆工业。丙酸还用于制造除草剂。 |
