性质：将管式反应器置于加热炉中，不断用燃料燃烧加热反应器外壁，通过问壁传热，将热量传递给管内反应物料进行裂解的一种方法。裂解在水蒸气稀释剂存在下进行。由于不可避免地有二次反应发生，焦沉积于反应管内壁上，因此对原料有一定限制，一般只能用轻烃、石脑油、轻柴油，而不能直接用渣油等重油作为裂解原料。管式裂解炉构型很多，反应管材质为耐高温(1100℃以上)的合金钢，可用液体或气体燃料燃烧供热。此种方法操作简单、连续性好，技术成熟、便于高温热量回收，生产能力大，烯烃收率高，是当今石油烃裂解制乙烯、丙烯的最主要方法。
