【来源】
为鼠李科植物崖枣树的根或枝叶。
【植物形态】
崖枣树 灌木，高仅1.5米。多小枝，互生，嫩时密生短柔毛。单叶互生；有二形：一为椭圆形或近圆形，长O.5～1厘米；一为长椭圆状披针形，长2～3厘米，先端渐尖，基部楔形至广楔形，边缘疏生细锯齿，上面无毛，下面中脉及叶柄具毛；叶柄长1～2毫米；有略呈刺状之托叶，花细小，1～2朵生于叶腋，5基数，花梗极短，外边有短柔毛。核果卵圆形或近于球形，直径5毫米，黑色，果柄长1毫米。种子3粒，椭圆形。花期7月。果期10月。 生于低山丘陵多岩石的地方。分布湖北、四川、贵州、陕西等地。
【采集】
4～5月采嫩枝叶；秋冬采根。
【性味】
《贵州民间药物》："性凉，味涩微苦，无毒。"
【功用主治】
清热，凉血，止血。治吐血，痔血，崩漏，月经不调，痢疾。 ①《贵州民间药物》："清热，凉血。" ②南川《常用中草药手册》："捣绒敷疮毒。" ③《四川常用中草药》："清热消积，活血通经。治食积，肝经积滞，月经不调，吐血，劳伤，咳嗽，气痛。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，0.3～1两(鲜者1～2两)。
【选方】
①治痔疮出血：鲜女儿茶根一两五钱，鲜刺老包根一两，地石榴果(即小种地瓜，要过冬的)一两。炖猪肉半斤，多放汤，少加盐，炖好后去渣，每天吃三次，每次一饭碗。(《贵州民间药物》) ②治痢疾，崩带：女儿茶一两至一两五钱。水煎，分二次服(南川《常用中草药手册》)
