【软脂酸】(palmiticacid)亦称“棕榈酸”。学名“十六烷酸”。化学式`CH_3(CH_2)_14COOH`，分子量256.43。一种饱和高级脂肪酸。以甘油酯形式存在于动植物油脂中，棕榈油中含量34-43，猪油中含量28-30。白色鳞片状晶体。熔点63-64℃，沸点215℃（1999.8帕）。不溶于水，微溶于冷乙醇、冷石油醚，易溶于热乙醇、乙醚、丙醇、氯仿。工业上由牛油、猪油、棕榈油等动植物油脂经皂化、中和制得。用于制肥皂、润滑油
