由磨料等制成的、带柄使用的小直径固结磨具。磨头使用时装在机床或手持工具上作高速旋转,主要用于修磨型面的内外轮廓,如修磨各种冲模等。圆柱磨头可用以磨内孔。按结构和制造方法不同,磨头有两种类型:①磨料和结合剂经混合、压型和烧结(或硬化)制成磨头,其尾部有一盲孔,再在盲孔处安上钢柄后使用。这种磨头按其头部形状又分为圆柱、截锥、60°锥、圆头锥、椭圆锥、半球形和球形磨头等形式(见图), 直径一般为4~10毫米;②用电镀方法把金刚石或立方氮化硼磨料直接镀在钢柄头部,直径通常在5毫米以下。
