| 大陆碰撞 continental collision 漂浮而不能俯冲的地壳碎块之间的强行接触。又称板块碰撞。两板块碰撞的接合带称缝合带。 大陆碰撞前的构造演化可能经历过俯冲作用，使得下潜和上叠板块之间形成一个单剪式的剪切带，来自洋壳和海沟的物质卷入到剪切带中，形成增生楔。及至两板块间的洋壳消亡，两板块相互汇聚和直接接触发生碰撞。碰撞期间两板块相对汇聚的速率大大降低，从一侧板块上被铲刮下来的物质可以堆积在另一侧板块的前缘；持续的碰撞作用使得一侧的地壳物质逆冲推掩到另一侧地壳之上，形成一系列推覆构造使地壳水平距离大大缩短，而垂直向上则大大增厚。碰撞后期冲断作用逐渐被走滑作用所取代，其时还伴之以地壳抬升、伸展和火山活动，也常出现深部地壳重熔形成花岗岩质的岩浆活动和侵入作用。西藏碰撞缝合带是新生代期间印度板块和欧亚板块相互汇聚的典型碰撞构造带。 |
