醋酸镁别名乙酸镁，化学式Mg(CH3COO)2·4H2O，分子量214.48。无色单斜晶体，密度为1.454g/cm3(无水物密度为1.42g/cm3)，易溶于水和乙醇，水溶液呈中性或弱酸性，80℃时溶于结晶水中。在潮湿空气中潮解，在浓硫酸干燥器中风化，100℃时脱水。用做分析试剂，制备乙酸钠酰镁以测定物质中钠的含量。碳酸镁跟醋酸反应，经浓缩，析出醋酸镁晶体。
