The first part shows the history of the basic aspect of stone carved paintings in Sichuan Tibetan areas, the stone carved paintings of Tibeto-Han nationalities that exist side by side, the typical Mani-stack, the stone carved painting of Gesar,and the stone carved slogans left by the Red Army.

四川藏区地处青藏高原向四川盆地的过渡带上，地势从西北向东南倾斜，地貌分为高原和高山峡谷两部分。四川藏区地处长江、黄河源头区，沟河纵横，落差大，较大的支流有570条。森林、雪山、冰川、峡谷、草原多种自然景观并存。
在横断山脉大雪山主峰的贡嘎雪山（海拔7556米）周围超过6000米的雪山有20多座；泸定海螺沟冰川是世界上海拔最低的冰川；汶川卧龙自然保护区是世界上第一个大熊猫研究中心……
这里还有被联合国列入“世界自然遗产”保护的九寨沟和黄龙等著名自然风景区。四川九寨沟，因沟内有九个古老藏族寨子而得名，目前只开放了三个寨子。九寨沟因大大小小的“海子”（湖）而闻名，湖水碧蓝透彻，没有丝毫杂质。九寨沟的风景非常符合中国文化的意境，获得奥斯卡奖的《卧虎藏龙》和著名中国导演张艺谋的《英雄》的许多外景都取自这里，充分衬托出中国武侠的飘逸神采。
如果说九寨沟是因为意境取胜，黄龙则完全是因为大自然的鬼斧神工而让人折服，黄龙的海子是五彩缤纷的。美国国家公园管理局西部地区局局长斯坦尼·欧伯特说：“这里有似加拿大晶莹洁白的雪山，美国科罗拉多美丽的原始森林，怀俄明州的大峡谷，黄石公园的钙华彩池，这么多美丽的风景集中于一地，真是世界罕见。”
