性质:无色晶体。在空气中稳定。有两种变体:单斜晶体和立方晶体。密度:单斜者为3.071g/cm3,立方者为3.17g/cm3。易溶于水,难溶于浓硝酸,加热100℃至200℃脱水生成中间产物(H2TeO4)n,最后完全转变为酸酐TeO3。为弱酸。用于制取其他碲酸及碲酸盐以及用作氧化剂。
