【性状】
本品为白色的结晶性粉末；无臭或几乎无臭，味苦。 本品在水或乙醇中易溶，在甘油中溶解。 熔点 本品的熔点（附录Ⅵ C）为128 ～131 ℃。
【鉴别】
(1) 取本品约0.1g，加水5ml 溶解后，加氢氧化钠试液5ml,缓缓煮沸， 即发生氨臭（与烟酸的区别）。继续加热至氨臭完全除去，放冷，加酚酞指示液1 ～2 滴，用稀硫酸中和，加硫酸铜试液2ml,即缓缓析出淡蓝色的沉淀；滤过，取沉淀炽灼， 即发生吡啶的臭气。 (2) 取本品，加水制成每1ml 中含20μg 的溶液，照分光光度法（附录Ⅳ A）测 定，在262nm 的波长处有最大吸收，在245nm 的波长处有最小吸收，245nm波长处的吸 收度与262nm波长处的吸收度的比值应为0.63～0.67。 (3)本品的红外光吸收图谱应与对照的图谱（光谱集421图）一致。
【检查】
有关物质 取本品，乙醇制成每1ml 中含40mg的溶液，作为供试品溶液 ；精密量取适量，加乙酸稀释制成每1ml 中含0.2mg 溶液，作为对照溶液。照薄层色谱 法（附录Ⅴ B）试验，吸取上述两种溶液各5μl，分别点于同一硅胶ＧＦ 薄层 板上，以氯仿－无水乙醇－水(48:45:4) 为展开剂，展开后，取出，晾干，置紫外光灯 (254nm) 下检视。供试品溶液如显杂质斑点，与对照溶液的主斑点比较，不得更深。 酸碱度 取本品1.0g，加水10ml使溶解，依法测定（附录Ⅵ H），pH值为5.5 ～ 7.5 。 干燥失重 取本品，在105 ℃干燥2 小时，减失重量不得过0.5 ％（附录Ⅷ L）。 炽灼残渣 不得过 0.1％（附录Ⅷ N）。 重金属 取本品1.0g，加水10ml溶解后，加1mol/L盐酸溶液6ml 与水适量使成25ml ，依法检查（附录Ⅷ H第一法），含重金属不得过百万分之二十。
【含量测定】
取本品约0.1g，精密称定，加冰醋酸20ml溶解后，加醋酐5ml 与结 晶紫指示液1 滴，用高氯酸滴定液(0.1mol/L)滴定至溶液显蓝绿色，并将滴定的结果 用空白试验校正。每1ml高氯酸滴定液(0.1mol/L)相当于12.21mg的C6H6N2O。
