| 海萝属 Gloiopeltis 红藻门的一属。植物体直立 ，具不十分规则的叉状分枝，圆柱状或扁压，内部组织疏松或中空；四分孢子囊散生在皮层中，十字形分裂；囊果球形或半球形，突出于体表面，密集遍布在藻体上。该属有7种，全系海产，分布于北太平洋岸温带海域或略向南北延伸。中国产两种：海萝，紫红色，高4～10厘米，可达15厘米；生于高、中潮带的岩石上，产于沿海各地；鹿角海萝，外部形态与海萝相似，但枝端较尖细，末枝常弯曲像鹿角，生于中、低潮带的岩石上，产于东海和广东省大陆沿岸。海萝和鹿角海萝因体内含胶甚多，故耐干力很强，常丛生成群，可作为食品，也可药用；海萝胶还可用于印染工业。
