泰康（那达慕）是蒙古族进行游乐活动的盛会。杜尔伯特县的那达慕大会历史悠久，清代，这里的那达慕分为“呼苏”（旗）、“奴图克”（区）、“也拉”（乡）三级，均由蒙古族王公贵族们主持。
1956年杜尔伯特蒙古族自治县成立以后，决定每年秋季举行全县那达慕大会。次年第一届大会如期召开。以后每年那个时候，全县各乡镇农牧民、工人、学生、机关干部都组织代表队参加。外县市也派出竞技代表队前来助兴，逐渐莆成了全县各族群众的盛大节日。
现在除了全县的那达慕大会以外，各蒙古族聚居区每年也都举办那达慕大会。现在那达慕大会内容十分丰富，会上除了项目赛马、射箭、摔跤三项竞技比赛及踢牛膑骨、下蒙古棋、抛、“布鲁”等三项游艺比赛外，还增添了文艺演出、大型团体操、商品交易会、田径、篮球、排球等现代体育比赛项目。
