Bamboo cellulose pulp was irradiated in air by 60Co γ-rays.

After irradiation by()~(60)Co γ-ray,the average degree of polymerization of bamboo cellulose was determined by viscosimetry method,and the crystalline structure were studied by infrared spectra and X-ray diffraction,respectively.

Principle, significance, operation for measuring polymerization degree of bamboo cellulose with a viscosimetric method,and its application in the development of the Lyocell cellulose from bamboo were introduced.
