性质:羧酸分子中的羟基(—OH)和羧基(—COOH)脱去一分水生成的环状结构的酯,常见的内酯为x=2,3或4,分别称为β-、γ-或δ-内酯。低级(环较小)内酯为具有香味的液体,易溶于水、乙醇及乙醚。性质与开链羧酸酯相似,与水(酸或碱存在下)、醇或氨反应,生成相应的羟基酸、羟基酸酯或羟基酰胺。β-内酯通常由乙烯酮与醛、酮反应制取γ-或δ-内酯可由γ-或δ-卤代酸制取。一些从天然物中分离得到的大环内酯具有生物活性。
