性状 又名蓖麻油聚氧乙烯醚、乳化剂EL、乳化剂BY。淡黄色粘稠液体。低温时凝固成膏状物，加热后即恢复原状，性能不变。易溶于水。溶于油脂、矿物油、脂肪酸及大多数有机溶剂。耐硬水、耐酸、耐无机盐。遇强碱会引起水解。HLB值 13，浊点 》85℃。
生产方法 主要采用加成法。以三蓖麻酸甘油酯和环氧乙烷为原料，在氢氧化钾催化剂存在下，进行加成反应而得。
用途 非离子型表面活性剂。主要用作乳液类、膏霜类和香波类化妆品的乳化剂。具有丰富的泡沫性能和润湿分散效果。稳定性和柔软性优良。
