      CH3CH2CHO 无色透明带刺激气味的液体,沸点49℃。1975年美国联合碳化物公司建成以铑-膦为催化剂、由乙烯低压经羰基合成制丙醛的第一个大型生产装置(设计能力为年产45kt)后,低压羰基合成法逐渐成为丙醛生产的主要方法和发展方向,1981年美国、西欧和日本丙醛总生产能力(230 kt)中95%以上是采用低压羰基合成法生产的。其他用于丙醛生产的方法有丙醇氧化、环氧丙烷异构化等。丙烯直接氧化制丙酮也副产一定量丙醛。
  
  丙醛是发展精细化工的重要原料之一,是合成正丙醇、丙酸、三羟甲基乙烷等化工产品的中间体,广泛用于医药、涂料、橡胶、塑料,特别是农药、饲料等工业部门。
