着色的方法。活的生物标本为无色透明，光波通过这些成分时，波长和振幅不发生显著变化，因此不能清楚地观察其微细结构，只有经过一系列染色处理后，方能对其微细结构进行观察。染色用的染料，分为天然染料和人工合成染料两大类，后者根据其化学结构和特性又分为酸性染料、碱性染料和中性染料。一般认为染色原理既有物理作用，也有化学作用。H-E染色法是组织切片的一种经典染色方法，此外还有特殊染色方法、组织化学和细胞化学染色法、荧光染色法等。
