In order to investigate the effects of decreasing settling time and biofilm on the rapid start-up of aerobic granular sludge reactor for nitrification,the real domestic wastewater was treated in three sequencing batch reactors(SBR,named as R1,R2 and R3) and one sequencing batch airlift reactor(SBAR,named as R4).

In order to investigate the effect of organic carbon on the aerobic nitrogen removal,it is necessary to treat real domestic wastewater(average COD/TN ratio was about 3) in Sequencing Batch Biofilm Reactor(SBBR).

Based on a laboratory-scale A2/O process acclimated with real wastewater,and combining with activated sludge model,research on effect of SRT of 8,10,12 and 15 d on biological nutrient removal was done,and simulation and optimization with the established A2/O model were made.

Based on a laboratory-scale anaerobic-anoxic-oxic process acclimated with real wastewater,substrate transformation mechanism and the effect of nitrate on substrate transformations occurred in the system were investigated.
