Clostridium

   能形成芽孢、厌氧生长的革兰氏染色阳性大杆菌。因芽孢常比菌体大,致使菌体呈梭状而得名。又称厌氧芽孢杆菌属。梭菌广泛分布于自然界,芽孢圆形或椭圆形,位于菌体中央、顶端或偏端。尤以土壤中最多。有些梭菌作为正常菌丛寄居在人或动物肠道内,部分梭菌对人或动物致病,它们大多产生强烈的外毒素,其中以破伤风梭菌和肉毒梭菌的毒力最强。破伤风梭菌是人、畜破伤风的病原体,菌体细长 ,大小为(0.5~1.1)微米×(2.4~5 )微米,大多数周身鞭毛,能运动,无荚膜,芽孢圆形,较菌体大,位于顶端。肉毒梭菌的菌体大小为(0.8~1.3)微米×( 4.4~8.6)微米,周身鞭毛 ,无荚膜 ,芽孢椭圆形 ,比菌体略大 ,位于偏端,芽孢抗热性强,煮沸5小时才被杀死。
