为禾本科植物金竹秆内的衣膜。
【植物形态】
金竹(《竹谱详录》),又名:黄金竹、黄竹、黄皮竹、黄竿(坪井《竹类图谱》),黄苦竹。 秆高5~10米,主秆及枝条呈金黄色。秆环较箨环微突起。主秆节间之背部常有纵长绿线1~2条;箨鞘黄色,并有绿色纵纹及少数淡棕色斑点,无毛;箨耳及鞘口无缝毛,或仅有退化之箨耳;箨舌长约2.5毫米,无毛,边缘微有不规则的缺刻,稍呈流苏状;箨叶细长,带状,长约4.5厘米,宽5毫米,除最下1枚秆箨外,所有各箨叶均有小横脉而呈方格状,在中脉地位常有1淡绿色之纵纹。枝条每节2枚,小枝端生叶2~3枚;叶耳有白色刚毛;叶舌甚突起;叶柄长约3毫米;叶片长圆状披针形至披针形,长4.5~12.5厘米,宽8~17毫米,先端渐尖,基部微圆,上面绿色,无毛,下面色较淡,微粗糙,沿中脉以及向其基部密生微毛或甚粗糙,边缘之一侧有小锯齿。笋期4~5月。 多栽培于庭园。分布长江流域以南。

《纲目拾遗》:"治喉哑劳嗽。"

治一切劳瘵痰嗽、声哑不出难治者:金竹衣一钱,金竹茹弹子大一丸,麦冬二钱,甘草、橘红各五分,白茯苓、桔梗各一钱,杏仁七粒(去皮、尖,研)。上药,水一盅半,加竹叶十四片,煎七分,入金竹沥一杯,和匀服。(《景岳全书》竹衣麦门冬汤)
