前人研究认为晚二叠世长兴期生物礁主要为环陆棚边缘带发育的陆棚边缘礁;通过对研究区钻井岩心分析,认为生物礁发育环境应为浅水碳酸盐岩台地沉积,生物礁不呈带状分布,不具边缘礁的特点,属于台地内的点礁或斑礁。

Arabian Platform

   西亚阿拉伯半岛主体部分。地跨沙特阿拉伯、也门、叙利亚、伊拉克、约旦5国。西起红海沿岸的希贾兹山脉,东至阿曼湾岸的哈杰尔山脉,北至叙利亚中央高地,南达亚丁湾岸的也门高地。面积250万平方千米以上。为古老平坦地台,核心部分位于沙特阿拉伯的内志高原。台地自寒武纪以来,几乎未受到褶皱变动,古地质时代的沉积岩层基本保持平整。台地面海拔1200~2500米,地势自西南向东北缓倾。第四纪大规模的断裂运动,造成大量岩浆喷出,致使台地西部被深厚的熔岩所覆盖。属热带荒漠气候,表面沙漠广布,河道干涸,仅在地下水抬升处有零星绿洲。较大沙漠有鲁卜哈利沙漠、内夫得沙漠、代赫纳沙漠等。
