性质:无色挥发性液体,有强烈的类樟脑气味。有顺、反两种异构体。顺式沸点147.35℃,反式沸点148.57℃,冰点-80℃,相对密度0.90(15/4℃),折光率1.4856(30℃),闪点38℃。有刺激性,易被氧化。贮存时用100ppm的对叔丁基邻苯二酚作为阴聚剂。

制备方法:用环戊二烯(或双环戊二烯)和1,3-丁二烯经第尔斯-阿尔德(Diels-Alder)反应得到乙烯基降冰片烯,再经异构化反应生成亚乙基降冰片烯。另一种制备法是以丁二烯为原料,经氯化制得3-氯-1-丁烯,再与歪戊二烯加成得5-(1-氯乙基)-2-降冰片烯,最后用氧化钙脱去盐酸而得产品。

用途:该品作为第三单体,与乙烯、丙烯共聚可得乙丙橡胶。秘得橡胶的硫化速度比其他第三单体快,可以克服乙丙乙丙橡胶硫化速度慢的缺点。它还具有耐臭氧、耐化学药品(溶剂、酸、碱等)、耐放电、耐水蒸气等性能。因此,可用作发动机周围的橡胶制品、防水板等建筑材料和耐冲击性塑料的改性材料。
