竹制家具 我国南方诸省多产竹子，竹子是一种多年生的禾本科木质常绿植物，成材快，质地坚韧，表面光滑，触感舒适。故自古以来，民间常喜用各种竹子制作各类家具，并大多仿照木家具的造型，产品富有鲜明的民族形式和传统风格。此类家具以湖南益阳、湖北武穴、江苏高邮、安徽屯溪最为著名。湖南益阳竹家具，相传已有六百多年历史，技艺精良，为避暑乘凉佳品。主要采用优质毛、麻竹为原料，运用竹材光洁、凉爽和竹青、内黄等的不同特色，经郁制、拼嵌、装修和火制等工序制成。建国后曾相继派竹艺美术师到几内亚、加纳和伊朗等国传授技艺。湖北省广济县武穴镇竹器家具已有近百年历史，是由艺人章水泉发展起来的，他制作的花竹椅曾在1915年“太平洋万国巴拿马博览会”上获奖。
