| 欧泊 opal 一种具美丽光彩或变彩的蛋白石。又称闪山石，矿物名称为贵蛋白石。化学组成为 SiO2·nHO2，主要由非晶质二氧化硅组成。半透明至透明。硬度5～6.5。大多数欧泊在紫外光下发荧光。根据颜色特征和光学效应，天然欧泊可以分为：白欧泊，体色呈白色，变彩较浅；黑欧泊，体色呈黑色、灰黑色，变彩深而鲜艳；晶质欧泊，体色为无色透明，彩片较浅；火欧泊，体色呈橘红色，半透明，无彩片。欧泊的经济评价以体色、变彩和坚固性为依据。总之，颜色美丽（黑色、红色、紫色等成分多），变彩均匀完整（呈现光谱七色，或显示红色及罕见的紫色、紫红色，有较强的亮度和透明度），致密无破损（无裂纹）者为佳品，尤以变彩的黑欧泊价值最高。欧泊主要是SiO2胶体在干燥沉积环境中胶凝而成，或者由含SiO2胶体的热水溶液在火山岩气孔中填充胶结而成。澳大利亚的欧泊产量和质量居世界之首，其他产地有捷克、斯洛伐克、墨西哥、印度尼西亚和巴西等。 |
