2402树脂是由对叔丁基苯酚与甲醛在碱性催化剂存在下缩聚而制得。淡黄色至棕色不规则透明块状固体,在出料前加入草酸还原,可制得浅色的树脂。分子量为500-1000。羟甲基含量7%-10%,酸值6.0 mg KOH/g,游离酚<2.0%。
