化学式LiOH。为无色可溶性强碱;熔点450℃,相对密度1.46,在942℃分解。在碱金属氢氧化物中,以氢氧化锂在水中的溶解度最小,20℃时100克水能溶解12.8克。氢氧化锂有很强的吸收二氧化碳能力,可在潜艇中用来净化空气。碱性蓄电池中加入LiOH·H2O,可增加电容量12%~15%,提高使用寿命2~3倍。把碳酸锂和石灰乳调成浆状,用100℃水蒸气加热,滤去碳酸钙,即得氢氧化锂:
