Etaconazole was synthesized by bromating 2,4-dichloroacetophenone with Br2,and then dehydratingbetween the resulted ω-Bromo-2,4-dichloroacetophenone and 1,2-butanediol with p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst,followed by condensation the obtained 2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl) -2-bromomethyl-4-ethyl-1,3-dioxolane with 1,2,4-triazoleNa salt.
