Through the investigation and study with the environmental isotopic way and the hydrograph separation method,it is expounded that the rain,the groundwater and the snowmelt from the Qilian mountain area are the main resource to recharge groundwater in the middle reaches of Heihe River basin in the Northwest internal region.
通过环境同位素、水文分割法和相关分析研究表明,祁连山区降水、冰川雪融水和基岩裂隙水通过出山口地表径流补给构成黑河流域走廊平原地下水主要补给源,具有年际和年内丰枯动态变化规律,与祁连山区降水量和气温的关联度分别为0。

1987年被批准为国家级自然生态保护区，是集森林、草原、冰川为一体的自然生态旅游区，拥有原始森林1万公顷、高山草原3万公顷、现代冰川10平方公里。沿途有骊 靬古城、蛤蟆泉、娘娘泉、炒铁台、照子洼等人文景观和自然景观。风景秀丽，气候宜人，是集观光、休闲、娱乐、度假、避暑为一体的旅游胜地。从沟口至照子洼、王八郎崖，包括整个河沟林业站面积，约15平方公里，有原始森林、雪山冰川、高山草原，珍奇动植物。开辟各种中草药集中生长的园区一百草园，以供观赏和种植，开僻一处野生动物园、有马鹿、林麝、岩羊、雪鸡、苍鹰、黄鹊等数十余种珍奇动物，以供观赏，在景区入口处建一个100个床位的度假饭店及餐饮设施
