由两个配对斜齿轮组成的交错轴间的齿轮传动﹐又称交错轴斜齿轮传动。图 螺旋齿轮传动原理 中﹐过两分度圆的切点C作两分度圆柱的公切面﹐两轮轴线在该平面上投影的夹角称为轴交角Σ。当两轮的螺旋角β1﹑β2方向相同时﹐|Σ|＝|β1|＋|β2|﹔当两轮的螺旋角方向相反时﹐|Σ|＝|β1|-|β2|。配对的螺旋齿轮传动﹐其法面模数mn必须相等﹔如螺旋角β不相等﹐则它们的端面模数不相等。与平行轴间的圆柱齿轮传动一样﹐这种传动的传动比等於两轮齿数之反比。由於齿间的滑动速度往往很大﹐传动效率低﹐磨损快﹔两齿面是点接触﹐接触应力较大﹐故承载能力差﹐寿命较短。因此﹐螺旋齿轮传动仅用於传递运动或很小的动力。
