蛭石 vermiculite 层状结构硅酸盐矿物。成分为Mg0.5(H2O) 4Mg3[AlSi3O10](OH) 2因加热时能迅速膨胀,弯曲呈水蛭(蚂蟥)状而得名。蛭石可由多种矿物转变而成,化学组成变化很大。晶体属单斜晶系。粗的片状蛭石多由黑云母转变而成 ;细的呈土状、粉末状。蛭石一般呈褐色、褐黄色或暗绿色,带油脂的玻璃光泽。底面解理完全,解理薄片具挠性,有时微具弹性。莫氏硬度1.5~2.8,比重2.1~2.7。用加热或化学方法使其膨胀,体积可膨胀20倍左右。加热后的蛭石变成银灰色,比重下降到0.6~0.9。约有80%的膨胀蛭石用于建筑工业,是良好的隔热、隔音材料。还可作为橡胶、 油漆等填充料和涂料,机械润滑剂等。蛭石通常由云母经低温热液蚀变或风化而成。世界上一些重要的蛭石产地,多数与超基性岩、基性岩有关。 |
