水葫芦 Eichhornia crassipes 雨久花科凤眼莲属多年生水生草本。又称凤眼莲、凤眼蓝。多用作饲草和肥料。植株浮生水面,须根发达,浅水时根系伸入土中。株高10~30厘米,在富含养分的深水中密集放养,高可达60厘米以上。自然结实率低,能从根际不断长出匍匐枝形成新株,进行无性繁殖。性喜温好湿,不耐霜冻,根系吸收力强,能富集水中养分。除用作猪饲料和制作堆肥之外,因其对砷敏感,还可作为监测水体中砷污染程度的指示植物。也可用作观赏植物。但生长过旺时,常阻塞河道,成为一种害草。
