世界造纸工业中规模和影响最大的专业学术团体。简称TAPPI。创立于 1915年。总部设在美国佐治亚州的亚特兰大市(Atlanta，Georgia)。协会下设涂布和印刷、瓦楞纸箱、工程设计、环境科学、管理科学、纸和纸板、纸的完成加工、合成纸、制浆、研究开发、检测等11个技术部门，它们分别领导70多个专业委员会。协会还在美国各地设有分会。协会会员分为正式会员、准会员、非正式会员、学生会员、赞助协会活动的团体会员等5类。正式会员须具备受过技术教育并在制浆、造纸或有关工业中从事技术工作达 10年的资格。现有各类会员2.9万余人，除美国本国外，还包括遍及70多个国家和地区的海外会员。
