①C-酰化 是一种形成新的碳－碳键的缩合反应，其中最重要的是酰基取代芳环上的氢生成芳酮的过程。例如醋酐与萘在二氯乙烷溶剂中，在90°C发生如下酰化反应： C-酰化最常用的催化剂是无水三氯化铝，因为它非常活泼。但是对于活泼的被酰化物，为了避免副反应，需要用温和的催化剂如无水氯化锌、多聚磷酸等。
②N-酰化 伯胺基或仲胺基上的氢被酰基取代生成酰胺的过程。例如： 如果羧酸不够活泼，就需要使用羧酸加三氯化磷、酸酐或酰氯化酰化剂。
③O-酰化 醇或酚分子中羟基的氢原子被酰基取代或炔烃与酸反应的过程，因为生成的产物是酯，所以又称酯化。
②N-酰化 伯胺基或仲胺基上的氢被酰基取代生成酰胺的过程。例如： 如果羧酸不够活泼，就需要使用羧酸加三氯化磷、酸酐或酰氯化酰化剂。
