气藏描述是一项新兴的综合性技术，涉及的内容较多，主要介绍气藏构造形态描述和储集层物性参数描述的技术方法：时深转换是气藏构造形态描述的关键，在钻井很少的情况下，利用地震速度体进行变速时深转换是唯一可行的方法；根据储层厚度的不同，计算储层厚度的方法也各不相同，低频能量法和神经网络法是计算薄层厚度的理想方法，道积分时差法则适用于厚层的计算；利用地震信息计算储层孔隙度是当前常用的方法，另外，人工神经网络是建立孔隙度与地震参数之间关系的最有效办法，同时利用层速度计算储层孔隙度也是一种行之有效的方法。
