银杏 Ginkgobiloba;ginkgo 银杏科银杏属落叶乔木。又称白果树、公孙树。该科仅1属1种,为中国特有树种。枝有长、短之分。叶扇形,在长枝上散生,短枝上簇生。雌雄异株。种子核果状,椭圆形或倒卵形,外种皮肉质,有白粉,熟时淡黄或橙黄色。银杏喜光,较耐寒而不耐湿热,喜肥沃,要求土壤通气良好。可在酸性土、中性土及钙质土上生长。系中生代孑遗植物,现普遍栽培。生长较慢,寿命可达千余年。种仁可食;外种皮可提栲胶;木材轻软、细致;还是绿化树种。中医以种子入药。
