性质:红外光谱通常是指2-25微米波长范围(用波数表示即4000-400厘米-1)的中红外区吸收光谱。物质的分子在红外线的照射下选择性地吸收其中某些频率,形成一些吸收谱带,称红外光谱(infrared spectrum)。它是因为分子吸收红外线激发到较高的振动能级而形成的。所吸收的红外线频率(能量)与分子振动能级间距相等。不同结构的分子具有不同的振动能级,因而出现代表分子结构的各不相同的红外光谱。红外光谱除不能区别旋光异构体外,能对分子进行定性分析。有机物大多数基团相对独立地在红外光谱的一定频率范围,出现特征吸收峰。故它能鉴定分子中的基团。它也能用于定量分析。波长25-1000微米的光谱则称为远红外光谱(far infrared spectrum)。
