光程 optical path 光在介质中传播的距离与介质折射率之乘积。对各向同性的均匀介质,折射率n为常量,光传播的几何路程为l时,光程L=nl 。因 , c和 v分别为真空中和介质中的光速,故光在介质中传播l路程所需时间为 。此式表明光程等于光在介质中传播所需的同样时间内能在真空中传播的路程。利用光程概念可把光在介质中传播的路程折算成在真空中传播的路程,以便使用真空中的波长计算光由于传播一定距离所引起的相位改变。光在介质中传播时,每传播一个波长λ′的距离(λ′为介质中的波长),相位落后2π。故传播l距离所造成的相位落后为 Δj= 2πl/λ′=2πL/λ,式中λ=nλ′为真空中的波长 。算出光在介质中的光程,利用真空中的波长即可求出光在传播过程中的相位改变。当要比较两束相干光由于传播不同光程而引起的相位差时,只要计算两者的光程差即可。在阐述费马原理及解释光的干涉、衍射及光在晶体中传播的某些现象时,光程是有用的概念。 |
