Ghewar Oil Field

   中东和世界最大的油田。位于沙特阿拉伯首都利雅得以东,距阿拉伯湾海岸约100千米。该油田是一个近南北向的长轴背斜,面积为3750平方千米,从南到北由6个高点组成,即哈拉德、哈维耶、乌特曼尼耶、谢德古姆、艾因达尔和费尔赞。于20世纪30年代末被发现,1948年在艾因达尔高点打第一探井产油,次年哈拉德高点出油。1957年证明盖瓦尔是一个完整的超级油田,含油面积达2403平方千米,生产层是上侏罗纪的阿拉伯组石灰岩,埋深1544~2472米,以C段和D段为主油藏,孔隙度达30%,渗透率0.8~1.5平方微米。油田原始地质储量319亿吨,可采储量115亿吨。在一些高点深处,发现二叠系库夫组古生界气藏。
