| 菊花 Dendranthema morifolium 菊科菊属植物的栽培种。经长期人工选择培育出的名贵观赏花卉。又称艺菊，品种已达千余。多年生草本，高60～150厘米。茎直立，分枝或不分枝 ，被柔毛。头状花序直径2.5～20厘米 ，大小不一。总苞片多层，外层外面被柔毛。舌状花颜色各种。管状花黄色。菊花不是单元起源的，不能用简单的种系发生方法来概括。菊花是异花授粉植物。可以利用菊花的有性繁殖，借助遗传重组和性状分离或基因突变来选择新品种，而利用无性繁殖的方法来固定新性状，培育新品种，或利用芽变和固定芽变的办法培养新品种。菊花的无性繁殖有扦插、分枝与压条等，而扦插是常用的方法。菊花一般秋季开花，故又名秋菊。但它是短日照植物，可根据这种生物学特征，使之提早或延迟开花，供节日或盆景布置之用。菊花品种繁多，头状花序皆可入药，味甘苦，微寒，散风，清热解毒。这就是药菊。按头状花序干燥后形状大小，舌状花的长度，可把药菊分成白菊花、滁菊花、贡菊花和杭菊花4类。在每一类里则根据原产地取名。
