chlorophyll

   植物进行光合作用的主要色素。为镁卟啉化合物,包括叶绿素a,b,c等以及光合细菌中类似的化合物细菌叶绿素,绿硫细菌叶绿素等。高等植物、各种藻类几乎都含有叶绿素a。叶绿素b只在高等植物、绿藻、眼虫藻、管藻中存在,其含量在总叶绿素量中占15%~50%。高等植物中叶绿素a和b之比一般是3∶1。硅藻、甲藻、褐藻中含有叶绿素c。
   叶绿素的可见光波段的吸收光谱,在蓝光和红光处各有一显著的吸收峰。吸收峰的位置和消光值的大小随叶绿素种类不同而有所不同。这些性质可用于鉴定叶绿素的种类和数量。叶绿素溶液能发出深红色的荧光。
   叶绿素不很稳定,光、酸、碱、氧、氧化剂等都会使其分解。酸性条件下,叶绿素分子很容易失去卟啉环中的镁成为去镁叶绿素。
   叶绿素和细菌叶绿素分别是绿色植物和光合细菌的光合作用过程中吸收光能,推动原初光化学反应的主要色素。
