光质。光质是指拍摄所用光线的软硬性质。可分为硬质光和软质光。
硬质光即是强烈的直射光，如晴天的阳光，人工灯中的聚光灯、回光灯的灯光等。
硬质光照射下的被摄体表面的物理特性表现为：受光面、背光面及投影非常鲜明，明暗反差较大，对比效果明显，有助于表现受光面的细节及质感，造成有力度、鲜活等视角艺术效果。
软质光是一种漫散射性质的光，没有明确的方向性，在被照物上不留明显的阴影。如大雾中的阳光，泛光灯光源等。
软质光的特点是光线柔和，强度均匀，光比较小，形成的影像反差不大，主体感和质感较弱。
