性质:臭氧层中出现低臭氧浓度区。自20世纪50年代中期以来,春季(8月下旬至11月中旬)南极上空气柱中的臭氧总量显著减少(低于50%),70年代中期以来减少趋势更为明显,平流层下部大气的化学成分也发生了明显变化。后来在北极上空也发现有“臭氧洞”。关于南极“臭氧洞”的成因尚未有定论,目前认为其形成的化学机理,主要是一些痕量气体如氟氯烃、氮氧化物等在紫外线照射下产生的活性化学物种与臭氧反应而使其分解的结果。
