   化学式  NH4NO3,无色斜方或单斜晶体。熔点169.6℃,密度1.725克/厘米3(25℃)。210℃分解为水和一氧化二氮:
   NH4NO3→N2O+2H2O
    如遇撞击或在密闭情况下加热,则会发生爆炸。硝酸铵溶于水、乙醇、甲醇,溶于水时大量吸热。硝酸铵是由硝酸与氨作用制得的,储运时应注意安全。硝酸铵用作化肥,含氮量高,还用作炸药、冷冻剂。用于制造焰火。
