三滩境内为原如森林和次生林，树种繁多，有秦岭冷彬、水彬、红豆彬、白皮松、银杉和莎椤等一、二类保护树种，林内药用植物和菌内遍生，观赏类事物更是奇特多样，尤以色泽艳丽的五色千层杜鹃和兰花最为迷人。三滩林木长势好，蕴藏量大，使该区气候宜人，可观赏林海雄姿，可享受园林气息，可见林海苍茫，小径通幽。同时，也是林木科研考察的理想之地。
在三滩境内的严坪村南，高约200余米，为季节性瀑布，每逢雨季，瀑布雄伟壮观，瀑声如雷，在瀑下观之，如水从天降，气势逼人，水雾扑面，雨过天晴时，还可观到瀑布彩虹。
月亮峡全长45公里，最大谷深1000米，峡内水质清纯，两岸青山，峡天一线，曲折徊还，怪石磷洵，泉涌瀑跌。上段为三国修筑古道一段，有石门、古桥遗址等景观。
