| 黄铁矿 pyrite 铁的硫化物(FeS2)矿物，地壳中分布最广的硫化物矿物。含铁 46.67％、含硫 53.33％，工业上称硫铁矿。是提取硫黄和制造硫酸的主要矿物原料。等轴晶系，常以立方体、八面体或五角十二面体晶形和块状、浸染状集合体见于多种成因的矿石和岩石中，而煤层中的黄铁矿往往成结核状。晶面上有条纹。淡黄色，条痕墨绿色。金属光泽。莫氏硬度6～6.5，比重5.0。具弱导电性。常产于硫化物矿床。地表易风化成针铁矿或褐铁矿。规模巨大，成层分布的黄铁矿可见于含黄铜矿矿床中。西班牙的里奥廷托是世界最著名的产地，其黄铁矿储量达10亿吨以上，且有很大数量的黄铜矿。甘肃的白银厂、广东的云浮、安徽新桥等为中国的著名产地。
