   机械在给定方向的驱动力作用下,由于摩擦原因无论驱动力多大都不能使机械运动的现象。对于移动副来说,如图1,作用在滑快A上的驱动力P,倾角为a,水平力PxPsina,摩擦力FfPx/ tga,式中f为摩擦系数。j=arctgf称摩擦角,以2j锥顶角的圆锥称为摩擦锥。若P作用在摩擦锥面内,即a<jPxF,则不论P多大,滑块都静止不动,即发生了自锁。若P作用在摩擦锥面上,即a=jPxF,此时处于临界状态,滑块将保持原来的等速运动或静止不动。对于转动副来说,如图2,以不通过回转轴线的力驱动构件转动,力P可看作是图2转动副大小和方向均相同的径向力与力偶MPe的合成。力偶M驱动构件回转  ,同时由于径向力的作用在转动副中引起与P相等的总反力R。回转件所受的摩擦力矩Mf=f0Rrf0pr,式中f0为当量摩擦系数,r为转动件的半径。若令f0rρ,则Mf=Pρ。以转动副轴心为圆心,以ρ为半径的圆,称为摩擦圆。若P的作用线与摩擦圆相割(在摩擦圆里边),PePρ,则不论P多大,回转件也不转,即发生自锁。若切于摩擦圆,PePρ,则处于平衡。
