性质:又称粉煤灰(coal ash)。由燃料(主要是煤)燃烧过程中排出的微小灰粒。其粒径一般在1~100μm之间。飞灰是煤粉在高温(1300~1500℃)中燃烧、冷却而形成。大部分呈球状,表面光滑,微孔较小。部分颗粒因熔融时粘连,表面粗糙、棱角多呈蜂窝状组合粒子。飞灰主要物相是玻璃体,占50%~80%;所含晶体矿物有莫来石、α-石英、方解石、钙长石、硅酸钙、赤铁矿和磁铁矿等,还有少量未燃的碳。飞灰的排放量与燃煤中的灰分含量有关。我国燃烧1t煤约产生250~300kg粉煤灰,大量粉煤灰进入大气会造成污染。目前主要用除尘器进行治理。粉煤灰主要含二氧化硅(SiO2)、氧化铝(Al2O3)和氧化铁(Fe2O3)等,已广泛用于制水泥及制各种轻质建材。此外还可利用粉煤灰作漂珠及作为肥料和微量复合肥料。在工业方面可从粉煤灰中回收铁、碳、铜、锗和钪等多种物质。
