在滚筒上装置许多凸块的压路碾。由于凸块形似羊足故称羊足碾。凸块形状有羊足形、圆柱形及方柱形等。滚筒轴支承于牵引机架轴承上,滚筒内可装水、砂或铁砂以增加碾压重量。在滚筒前后的机架下方装有梳状刮板,以清除凸块间粘嵌的泥块。拖式羊足碾由牵引机拖行。自行式羊足碾也称捣实压路机。羊足碾单位压力大,有捣实作用,压实度大,适用于压实粘性土壤及碎石层。尤其对于硬性粘土,凸块有搅拌、揉搓和捣实作用,使填料均匀,上下铺层粘结好避免分层。广泛用于路基、垫层和堤坝等工程的压实。自行式羊足碾在滚筒中还可装激振装置,制成振动捣实压路机,利用激振力增大压实效果,扩大使用范围。
