性质:一类能刺激机体免疫系统发生特异性免疫应答而产生抗体和(或)致敏淋巴细胞,并与相应的抗体或致敏淋巴细胞在体内外发生特异性结合的物质。抗原有两个基本特性:(1)免疫原性,指刺激机体免疫系统发生免疫应答的能力;(2)免疫反应性,又称反应原性,指与相应的免疫应答产物抗体或致敏淋巴细胞发生特异性结合的能力。具备这两种特性的物质,称为完全抗原,又称免疫原,如各种微生物、异种蛋白等。只具有免疫反应性而无免疫原性的物质称半抗原。这种物质主要为相对分子质量<4×103的小分子物质,单独时无免疫原性,当与具有免疫原性的蛋白质载体结合后,才具有免疫原性。大多数的多糖、类脂、某些药物等均属于半抗原。在某些情况下,抗原也可诱导机体对该抗原产生特异性的不应答,称为免疫耐受,这类抗原称耐受原。有些抗原可引起机体发生病理性的免疫应答即变态反应,这类抗原称为变应原。
