hQIShui xU0nfu keli wUZhi海水悬浮颗粒物质(suspended substanees in。e。wa-ter)海水中含有包括胶体在内的分散度不同的各种悬浮颗粒物质，其粒径一般在几到几百微米之间。通常人们利用孔径为0.45微米的过滤膜将它们从海水中分离出来，以确定它们在海水中的含量并研究其化学组分。因此，一些粒径小于0.45微米的颗粒物质仍保留在海水溶液中。悬浮颗粒物质包括有机组分和无机组分两大类:有机组分主要有生物的残骸、排泄物和分解物，由纤维素、淀粉等碳水化合物、蛋白质、类脂物质和壳质等组成;无机组分包括长石、碳酸盐和粘土等来自大陆的矿物碎屑、在海水化学作用过程中所生成的硅酸盐、钙十字石、碳酸盐、硫酸盐和水合氧化物等次生矿物以及生物过程中生成的硅质骨架碎屑等生源物质。 海水水体中的悬浮颗粒物质，大多数最后要沉到海底，其沉降速率主要取决于颗粒的大小和几何形状。另外，在沉降过程中，它们经历着溶解、沉淀、絮凝、离子交换、吸附、解吸等一系列物理化学过程，这些过程对海水微量和痕量元素的含量都起着重要的控制作用。 海水中悬浮颗粒物质的含量，决定了海水的水色和透明度，它影响着水体的美学指标以及供人们休闲和娱乐的价值。高浓度的悬浮物质减弱光的穿透力，影响水生植物的光合作用，并且还能阻碍鱼、贝、珊瑚类的过滤和进食活动，对生物生产力不利。另外，悬浮颗粒物质还能堵塞过滤器和管道，不利于海水的有效利用。(余国辉)
